Gamers frustrated by a glitch in the year's best selling game, Modern Warfare 2, can now download a patch that corrects the problem. At least if they own the PS3. The Xbox 360 patch is in the works and awaiting certification by Microsoft before it goes live. “For those playing on Xbox 360. The same fixes that are in 1.06 are coming to you, it’s currently in Microsoft cert. Out of my hands," says Robert Bowling for Infinity Ward.
The "Javelin Glitch" as it's called allows players to automatically shoot a javelin upon their death which locks on to the nearest enemy. Some glitch users argue the glitch replaces "Martyrdom," a perk in Call of Duty 4. Though the victims of these players disagree.
While PS3 gamers are required to update their games in order to play online, Xbox 360 users that continue to use the glitch will have their accounts suspended for two weeks. Microsoft and Infinity Ward chose to take the hard line policy, despite the glitch being a part of the game.
